I have just started reading this book – up to the second "face" of innovation. I recommend it so far. It was published in 2005 and provides a great insight into Ideo's design process. It starts with the premise that the "devil's advocate" kills many ideas before they are even explored, and that other personas within an innovative culture should allow an idea to be nurtured and rapidly prototyped.
It is well written, and commercial in its approach. Some of the examples are a little out dated now, however the message is clear and current – innovate or die.
